When faced with a catastrophic injury or illness, the perspective changes, as is the case for my friend, Laurie Foley. A brilliant, funny, learned human, in the process of raising her son entered hospice this week, calling the game for ovarian cancer cells.

In 2014 she spoke at an event in Georgia, sharing her story and compelling us to glimpse her insight. Our event host, Patti Digh shared a video and a transcript of what Laurie said to us that day two years ago. I find myself watching it and reading the transcript, over and over. We can coast through our time here, or transform what we have into something remarkable. I hope we transform.
